bring Financial Smarts to Your local library
Join actuaries who are taking action and encouraging their local librarians to subscribe to the Foundation’s free Financial Smarts newsletter for their patrons.
About Financial Smarts
Financial Smarts spotlights important consumer topics such as insurance, retirement planning, saving and investing. You can read recent newsletters below:
- Spring 2012 "Ready for Social Security?" (pdf)
- Fall 2011 "Retirement Planning"
- Summer 2011 "If Disaster Strikes" (pdf)
- Spring 2011 "Life-Defining Decisions" (pdf)
The Newsletter is Free
The Foundation provides Financial Smarts to any library for them to distribute to their patrons in their free resources area. Librarians are embracing the newsletter because it is trusted content from a nonprofit organization, links readers to more free resources from the Foundation and is easy for them to distribute.
How to Add Your Library to the List
Volunteer to bring Financial Smarts to your local librarian and encourage him/her to add their library to the subscription list. The Foundation will provide you with everything you need for your visit.
Following your visit, the Foundation will work directly with the librarian and automatically send him/her new editions of the newsletter when they are published. This is a great way for you to give back to your community on behalf of the profession—for very little time and effort.
How to Volunteer
Complete the following volunteer form. Someone from the Foundation will contact you with complete details.
